Staff at a Brownsover school who work hard to inspire students to excel in sports are celebrating a win of their own.

Boughton Leigh Junior School has achieved the School Games Platinum Mark Award for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 academic years - the only school in Eastern Warwickshire to do so.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.

Shanice Hobday, Head of Year 3 & PE Coordinator, said: "We are so proud to have achieved the Platinum Mark, this is such an incredible achievement, and I am so proud that our school has been recognised for this.

"We encourage all children to be active as much as possible throughout the day, this is through active breaks and lunchtimes with different play leaders and daily mile across the school.
