A supermarket chain with a branch in Leamington has had to recall a product on sale in the Midlands due to a salmonella scare.

Aldi, which has a branch in Queensway, has recalled 200g (7oz) packs of Choceur Treasures with a best before date of September 1 2015.

The company said the chocolate was sold in the West Midlands, East Midlands and parts of Lincolnshire.

Anyone who bought the product is asked to return it to the store.

The Food Standards Agency is warning people not to eat the product.

It said no other Aldi products were known to be affected.
