Hide AdGreen Party MP for Brighton Pavilion, Caroline Lucas, said: “I wish all the best to those setting up the new local party in Kenilworth.
“With so many new members in our local communities, this is a really exciting time to start up new groups. I hope to hear of Green councillors being elected in the years to come.”
The Kenilworth Green Party is the newest part of the Warwick District Green Party, and was set up by a group of Kenilworth residents in the wake of last year’s general election following the increase in Green votes.
Jon Dearing, another member of the Kenilworth Green Party, joined up because he thought the mainstream parties were not taking environmental issues seriously enough.

Peggy Wiseman, a member of the group, said: “We believe in politics that work for the benefit of everybody. This means reducing inequality, improving our quality of life and everyone having their fair share.
“It means looking after Kenilworth so that all residents enjoy living here. It also means looking ahead for solutions to climate change, investing in a greener economy and social inclusion.”
