Napton Festival is just a week away and organisers are busy making sure it will be a day of rock, folk and blues to remember.
More than 3,000 people attended last year's event and around 5,000 revellers are expected to attend the third festival on September 13.

Headliners include British rock band Bad Company, Coventry-based band The Ripps and blue singer songwriter Aynsley Lister.

Festival chairman Gordon Clarke said: "With a larger crowd and more people taking advantage of the camp site, we have had to make sure extra security, food outlets and general helpers are in place.

"This year the festival starts with a Friday night event in the music marquee and we have organised a coach service to surrounding villages that will collect people and take them home that night.

"We expect this to be a great start to the festival and a lot of organisation has had to be put into place to accommodate the extra event."

Some 20 bands will perform on both a main stage and music marquee.

The Prodigy tribute band Jilted Generation will perform on Friday night with a support band and DJ.

The festival started as a way of fundraising for village amenities and last year The Hollies and The Sweet headlined.

A team of ten volunteers organise it and it is set on a former camping and caravan park at Holt Farm near Napton.

Mr Clarke added: "It's an ideal festival for families as it's in a really lovely setting and is not too big."

There will also be lots of trade and catering stands and a funfair for people to enjoy during the afternoon and evening.

Parking is adjacent to the festival site and is free.

A fully stocked licensed beer tent will be situated opposite the main stage and the music marquee will have it's own bar.

Pre-booked tickets cost £20 for 18s and over, £15 for under 18s and under 12s are free when accompanied by an adult.

A family ticket costs £60 and admits two adults and three under 18s. On the gate tickets are £25, £20 and £85 respectively.

Friday night music in the marquee costs £6.50.

Overnight camping is available on both Friday and Saturday at £5 a night.

Tickets can be bought from Napton's post office, Crown pub and Cross Roads garage, Goodwins Hardware in Southam, the Assembly Rooms in Leamington or at www.naptonfestival.co.uk

n Prize draw tickets will be for sale to win a Les Paul copy electric guitar and meet Bad Company who will sign the instrument and play it on stage.
